Breakthrough!

As some of you know, I have been struggling with potty training Ally. She's absolutely fine with wearing a dirty diaper around for hours upon hours and it just frustrates me. How can that possibly be comfortable? She saw a jug of Swedish Fish at Linens N Things a few weeks ago and fell in love with it. I told her she can have some if she goes on the potty. For days, she carried it around as if it were a baby and would sporadically look at me and say " I can have gummy fish if I go on the potty" with a smirk. Law and I tried to hold off on opening the container for as long as we could, but it just kept calling to us. We've since then dented about 1/4 of it in a week. Must remember to save some for Ally...anyways, I digress. We bribed her with her 2 favorite things - gummies and ice cream, but to no avail.
Finally, today after her bath, she said she needed to go potty (as she often does). We sat there for a few minutes as we usually do, except this time, I could hear (and smell...she is her daddy's daughter) her dropping the bombs consistently. I knew it was time. As she was doing her deed, Law and I were overcome with elation that we just started dancing. It cracked her up! Probably because it looked similar to how Chandler Bing dances, but we couldn't help it. I was just so happy. She enjoyed her celebratory ice cream and gummy fish, and went to bed with a big smile on her face. She kept saying to herself "I'm so proud of you!" We are indeed, my sweet Ally.
